Celebrating the 4th of July is a big deal in Columbus! In addition to Red, White and Boom, which is one of the largest fireworks displays in the Midwest, there are so many July 4th celebrations, parades, and fireworks in Columbus in early July.

Annual Powell Festival

June 23-24, 2023: Musical entertainment, merchants, food vendors, Kids’ Zone, activity stations, animal visits, rides, games, and a local beer and wine beverage tent – plus free fireworks on Saturday at 10:15 p.m.

Frazeysburg Fireworks

June 30, 2023
10 pm: Fireworks at Frew Memorial Park. Fireworks event will include concession stand open along with Girl Scouts snow cones & glow sticks, etc. Follow on Facebook for updates.

Worthington Hills 4th of July

June 30 – July 4, 2023

June 30: Stars and Stripes Softball Games, 5-8 p.m., Worthington Hills Elementary. No registration is needed; just show up and join a team, or spectate! Free hot dogs and hamburgers while supplies last!

July 1: Firecracker Trot 5K., Worthington Hills Elementary, Race Day Registration at 7:15 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. start. All are welcome to cheer on participants of the Annual Firecracker Trot 5K!

June 2: Fun Fest at Worthington Hills Elementary. 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. This family friendly event features SuperGames, carnival games, a silent auction, Kona Ice, Food Trucks and more! More information on how to purchase tickets.

July 4: Fourth of July Parade, starting at 12:00 noon. This year’s parade theme is Disney!

Picnic with the Pops: Patriotic Pops and Soul

July 1, 2023 at 8 pm

The Columbus Symphony continues its 4th of July weekend celebration with Patriotic Pops and Soul featuring TamikaLawrenceand Columbus’ own Worship and Praise Chorale!!

Hilliard Freedom Fest 4th of July Celebration and Parade

July 1, 2023: 5 pm – 10 pm. Hilliard’s biggest patriotic celebration. Listen to nationally known artists Jameson Rodgers, Dalton Dover, and Trae Myers. Attendees enjoy food trucks, swimming, a Kid Zone, concerts and a spectacular fireworks show at dusk.

July 4, 2023: 9 am. The annual parade starts at Franklin County Fairgrounds, continuing through Old Hilliard. Register for the parade at theparade website.

Granville Independence Day Celebrations

July 1-4, 2023: Daily Concessions/Rides/Free Entertainment. See schedule here; subject to change.

July 1: Streetfair opens, live music, concessions, rides, and more
July 2: Party at Wildwood Park with Conspiracy from 8-10 pm, followed by fireworks at 10 pm.

Heath Star Spangled Celebration

Sunday, July 2, 2023: 5:00 PM10:30 PM. Free family-friendly celebration at Geller Park for Independence Day. Live entertainment, food, and activities for kids of all ages.

Park at the Davis-Shai House and watch the fireworks! This location offers an unobstructed view of the fireworks set off at Geller Park, and is handicap accessible with paved parking and restrooms. $10 cash per car (including minibusses) paid upon entrance. The money supports the Heath Community Arts Council. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates open at 8 pm. No refunds. Vehicles must fit in one standard parking space. Bring your chairs, blankets, and refreshments (no alcohol) as we enjoy a night of fireworks. Details here.

Johnstown Fireworks

Sunday, July 2, 2023: The City of Johnstown Fireworks will be set off at dusk. Pre-firework events will be posted as they become available.

Spectators can watch from the Johnstown Johnnies Stadium as well as from the high school parking lot.

Red White & Boom Independence Day Celebration

July 3, 2023
All day along the riverfront ending with the most recognized firework display in the Midwest. This annual festival features music, entertainment, children’s activities, and food on the Scioto Mile, Nationwide Blvd., Long Street, and North Bank Park beginning at 10 am.

Whitehall Independence Day Celebrations

July 3, 2023 from 6 – 10 p.m. Fireworks viewing party at Whitehall-Yearling High School’s football stadium. A free shuttle will run on a loop between Beechwood, Etna Road and Kae Avenue Elementary Schools, New Life Church and the high school.

Please remember that the only entrance to the fireworks is at the main entrance to the football stadium. Tickets and/or proof of residency are required for entry. Tickets are available from City Hall (360 S. Yearling Road) until 5 p.m. on Friday.

Famous Fortress Fireworks with Village of Obetz

July 3, 2023
6 pm – 11 pm

Newark Independence Day Concert and Fireworks

July 3, 2023 at 6 pm
Bring lawn chairs, picnics and blankets for a fun-filled evening of music and entertainment. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is also free. A number of local vendors will be serving food and beverages.

The crowd-favorite fireworks display begins at dusk to the accompaniment of patriotic favorites performed live.

Reynoldsburg Independence Day Festivities and Parade

July 3-4, 2023

Independence Day Celebration
July 3rd from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Civic Park, 6800 Daugherty Dr.

The event includes entertainment, food vendors, a fun kids’ zone, and of course, a spectacular fireworks show. Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs and get ready to celebrate!

Grove City Independence Day Celebration

July 4, 2023 at Dusk.

Celebrate Independence Day with community fireworks. The launch begins at approximately 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 4, simulcast on Qfm96, WLVQ-96.3. Fireworks will be launched from Murfin Fields.

Northland Community Fourth of July Parade

July 4, 2023

This traditional Fourth of July Parade at 11 am. The 2023 theme is Stronger Together. The procession travels north on Karl Road from Morse Road to the Granville Center Shopping Mall

Grand Marshal Georgeann Wells is an All-American WVU basketball player and Northland High School alumni. Wells is notable as the first American woman to register a dunk in an official NCAA intercollegiate basketball game on December 21, 1984. She did so with a regulation-sized ball (also known as a men’s basketball).

11 a.m. | Independence Day Parade
Location: Metro Center — Historic Dublin

4:30 p.m. | Evening Celebration – Ann Wilson, lead singer of the bands Heart and Tripsitter – wristband required
Location: Dublin Coffman High School, 6780 Coffman Rd, Dublin, OH 43017

Dublin residents and Dublin City Schools district residents are able to purchase stadium wristbands (bleacher seating) for $5 each beginning at noon Sunday, June 25. Wristbands can be purchased online or at the DCRC.

Any remaining wristbands will be made available to the general public starting June 30 and the price increases to $10 each. All wristbands sold on site will be $10 regardless of residency.

The Kids Zone, located just outside the stadium gates, offers a variety of inflatable activities for children (recommended for ages 2 to 12). Kids Zone tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the Dublin Community Recreation Center for $7 each. Tickets will also be available onsite for $10 each. A ticket allows unlimited play from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the event. You do not need a stadium or reserved table ticket to access the Kids Zone area.

VASO 4th of July Party and Dublin Fireworks Viewing

July 4, 2023

Celebrate the 4th of July at VASO rooftop restaurant and bar at the AC Hotel Columbus Dublin (6540 Riverside Dr).

From 5 pm -12 am, enjoy a private evening of live entertainment, creative co*cktails, and Spanish-inspired small plates as well as an option of its signature red, white and sparkling sangria — not to mention the best firework show in Dublin – with a front-row rooftop seat in the sky.

General admission tickets are $75, and include access to the rooftop patio, and two complimentary drink tickets. Indoor and outdoor tables, and private cabanas are available for purchase for the entire evening, and include a minimum spend. Purchase tickets on the VASO website.

Groveport 4th of July Celebration

July 4, 2023. Parade begins at 11 am at Groveport Recreation Center followed by bands, games, and activities all day long on Wirt Road. Fireworks begin at dusk.

Delaware 4th of July concert and fireworks

July 4, 2023. The Central Ohio Symphony will perform its traditional outdoor concert at Philips Glen on Ohio Wesleyan University campus beginning at 7:30 pm.

Chair seating is available for $10 or BYO Blanket for free. Fireworks cap the day, beginning after the concert at about 10 pm.

Marysville Independence Day Parade

July 4, 2023: 10 a.m. Route begins at American Legion Park, travels East on 5th St. to South Plum St., turns West on 6th St. and ends at the Union County Courthouse parking lot.

New Albany 4th of July Parade, 5k, Festival, and Fireworks

July 4, 2023

8 amNew Albany Independence Day5k, Kids Run, and Toddler Crawl
11 am New Albany Independence Day Parade at the New Albany Primary School and end at the Church of the Resurrection.
6 pm Festival with family activities, games, clowns, characters, food trucks, and live music on the green space at New Albany Middle School, 6600 E. Dublin Granville Road. This free, family-friendly event features live entertainment, bounce houses, face painters, balloon twisters, and caricature artists. Food and beverages available for purchase from food trucks.

10 p.m.: City of Worthington Fireworks

The Rotary Family Picnic, presented by the Dublin Worthington Rotary, will take place on the baseball field to the north of the high school, and the viewing area for the fireworks will be shifted to the grassy area to the south of the football field and track, in addition to the stadium bleacher seating.

Buying fireworks in Columbus

Did you know it’s legal to buy fireworks in Ohio, but it’s illegal to set them off in Ohio.

Yeah – we don’t understand that either. And based on the amount of fireworks we hear from mid-June through mid-July, it’s especially surprising.
